Account Deletion

Account Deletion Policy

PocketSe Digital Private Limited

Version 2.0  |  Last updated: 22 October 2026  |  Effective from: [effective date]

The short version

• Only the parent or guardian can delete an account. You can delete one child's profile, or the whole family account.

• Deleting the account stops future renewal charges automatically. Subscriptions bought through Apple or Google must be cancelled in the store.

• Any wallet or card balance is returned to you. We help you move it before anything is closed.

• We delete your family's personal data. We keep only the records the law requires, locked away and used for nothing else.

• You have [7] days to change your mind. Deletion is complete within [30] days.

1. Who can delete an account

Only the parent or guardian who created the account (the "Parent Account Holder") can ask for deletion. A child cannot delete their own profile or the family account. We confirm it is you, by a one-time password sent to your registered mobile number or email, before we act.

2. Your two options

Delete a child's profile

Delete the whole account

What is deleted

That child's profile, learning history and KIDIL Score.

Your parent account and every child profile linked to it.

Other children and your account

Not affected.

All deleted.

Wallet or card balance

Moved to your PocketSe wallet straight away. The child's card is closed.

Returned to you. See Section 5.

Subscription

Continues. It belongs to your account.

Auto-renewal stops. See Section 6.

Can it be undone?

Within the [7]-day window only.

Within the [7]-day window only.

3. Before you delete

  • Save what you want to keep. Download your child's progress report and any receipts from the app. Once deletion is complete we cannot recover them.

  • Check your balance. Make sure you know what is in the wallet and card. Pending transactions need to settle first.

  • Check how you pay. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, you will need to cancel there too (Section 6).

  • Consider cancelling instead. If you only want to stop paying, you can cancel the Plan and keep the account. You keep access to the end of the paid period.

4. How to delete

  1. Open the PocketSe app and go to Profile → Manage Profile → Delete Account (or Delete Child Profile).

  2. Confirm it is you with a one-time password.

  3. Review the summary: the balance, any active Plan and what will be deleted.

  4. Confirm. We send you an email and an in-app message with the date by which deletion will be complete.

If you cannot use the app, write to support@pocketse.in from your registered email address. We will verify you and carry out the request in the same way.

5. Wallet and card balance

Your Wallet and Card are issued by our RBI-authorised partner (the "PPI Issuer"), [PPI Issuer legal name]. Balances are returned in line with its terms and RBI requirements.

  • Deleting a child profile: the balance moves to your PocketSe wallet immediately, and you can use it or ask for it to be returned.

  • Deleting the whole account: you can choose to withdraw the balance first. If a balance remains, we return it to your verified bank account or the original source of funds, after required verification (KYC) and less any fees that are due and were disclosed to you. Refunds follow the timelines in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

  • No cash. Balances are always returned electronically.

  • If we cannot reach you, for example because your bank account has closed, we will hold the balance safely and contact you. Your right to claim it is not lost simply because the account was deleted.

6. Subscriptions and renewals

  • Paid through PocketSe directly: deleting your account automatically cancels renewal. You do not need to cancel separately first.

  • Paid through Apple App Store or Google Play: the store controls the subscription, so deleting your account does not cancel it. Please cancel in your store account settings.

  • Remaining paid period: deleting ends access immediately, and the unused period is not refunded unless the Refund and Cancellation Policy applies. If you want to use the rest of the period, cancel the Plan instead.

  • Charged after deleting? Tell us. A charge made after a valid deletion on our side is refunded in full.

7. What we delete and what we keep

What happens

Deleted

Parent and child profiles, names, school and class details, photos, preferences, learning and behaviour data including the KIDIL Score, and the device and usage data linked to them.

Kept, because the law requires it

Transaction, KYC and payment records, and invoices, for the period required by RBI directions, tax and other laws. In some cases that period is up to 10 years from account closure.

Kept, only if needed

Information we need to handle a dispute, complaint or legal claim, until it is closed.

Kept, with no identity attached

Statistics that cannot be linked back to you or your child.

How we treat what we keep. Records we must keep are stored securely, with access limited to people who need them for the legal purpose. We do not use them for marketing, product profiling or any other purpose. When the required period ends, we delete them.

Backups. Copies in secure backups are removed in the normal backup cycle, within [90] days, and are not used in the meantime.

Service providers. We instruct the partners who process data for us, including our PPI Issuer for its own regulatory records, to follow the same rules.

8. What happens after you ask

Stage

What to expect

Day 0

You confirm. Your account is locked. Renewal stops. We send a confirmation.

Days 1 to [7]

You can restore the account by logging in and cancelling the deletion. Nothing has been erased yet.

By day [30]

Personal data is deleted, except what we must keep. Balances are returned. We send a final confirmation.

9. If we cannot delete right away

We may need to delay deletion, and we will always tell you why and for how long, if:

  • a transaction or dispute is still pending, or the wallet balance is negative;

  • KYC or verification for returning a balance is not complete;

  • a court, regulator or law-enforcement authority has directed us to preserve records.

The rest of your data is still deleted as far as the law allows.

10. School and society plans

If your child's access is paid for by a school or residential society, deleting your account ends your access and removes your data from PocketSe. The school or society may keep its own records under its agreement with us and its own policies. A plan paid for by an organisation is not refunded to you.

11. Withdrawing consent without deleting

You can withdraw your consent for how we use your child's information at any time, as easily as you gave it, in the app or by writing to us. If we cannot provide the service without that information, we will delete the child's profile, and the Refund and Cancellation Policy explains any refund of an unused period.

12. Questions and complaints

Write to us first at support@pocketse.in. We acknowledge within 48 hours.

If you are not satisfied, contact our Grievance Officer, [name], at [grievance email]. We aim to resolve complaints within one month. You may also approach the Data Protection Board of India, as the law provides. For problems with a wallet or card, the escalation route in our Refund and Cancellation Policy applies.

13. Changes to this policy

We will notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days before any material change. Changes do not affect a deletion request you have already made.
